President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of congratulations to Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the Conservatives Party following a resounding victory in the UK elections.

In his message, President Kenyatta underscored the strong bilateral and historical ties between Kenya and the UK. He assured PM Johnson of his commitment to continue working closely with the Johnson Administration for the mutual benefit of the people of the two countries.

High Commissioner Manoah Esipisu, who met the PM at an informal event after the election, also spoke to the President's message. He emphasized that Kenya was prepared to continue partnering with the UK on a wide range of issues. Meantime the PM spoke of his high regard for President Kenyatta and Kenya.

The Conservatives victory, on the back of a campaign message to Get Brexit Done, means that countries such as Kenya need to secure their trade positions and look to negotiate post-Brexit terms with the UK.
