Emergency Travel Certificate

Things to Note:

You must book an appointment online before visiting the mission. Incomplete applications will not be processed and will be rejected.

It is recommended that you apply for your emergency travel document not earlier than two weeks to your travel date.

An applicant needs to be sure which airline and routing they will use before submitting an application.

Residence Status /Naturalisation certificate/proof of having regained Kenya citizenship and or declared dual citizenship

Requirements for Emergency Travel Certificate

Request letter explaining the emergency

Application form duly completed manually and signed (Click to Download)

Two (2) passport size photographs recently taken on a white background

Original and copy of expired passport

Copy of applicant’s birth certificate both sides
Original and copy of applicant's Kenyan ID

Police report if passport is lost
A sworn affidavit if the passport is mutilated

For minors born Abroad;
a) Foreign Birth Certificate
b) Parent/s Birth certificate, Kenya Identity Card, Kenyan Passport and UK residence status/naturalisation certificate and proof of having regained Kenya citizenship and/or declared dual citizenship
