NSE Chief Executive Geoffrey Odundo, accompanied by Terrence Adembesa, Chief Officer of the Derivates Market, were meeting LSE executives and fund managers to promote their bourse.  They also sought to interest Kenyan Diaspora in the UK to invest in instruments back home, which offer a good return amid low risk.  

The bourse Executives highlighted the Real Estate Investment Trusts for example, which offers investors exposure to real estate and mortgages through the NSE, according to NSE documents.  

They cited M-Akiba, which, according to the official website, is a Government of Kenya issued retail bond that seeks to enhance financial inclusion for economic development.  

The Chief Executive said the NSE was finalizing arrangements that will enable investors to transact directly on their mobile phones, another step in financial inclusion for a country already among the global leaders in this area.   Mr. Odundo and Mr. Adembesa visited the Kenya High Commission London on Tuesday.
