Officer Cadet Stephen Keiya has won a top award at the fabled Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst – becoming the first Kenyan to be honoured in this way in nearly six decades.  High Commissioner Manoah Esipisu and Military Adviser Col. Joseph Mokwena on Friday 9th August, 2019 attended the Sovereign’s Parade Commissioning of Officer Cadets Sally Chebii and Stephen Keiya at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.  

Keiya received the Hodson’s Merit Award for best overall performance by an international Cadet. It is the first Merit award for any Cadet from Kenya.College Commandant Major-Gen P.A.E Nanson convened the gathering that was president over by a representative of Her Majesty the Queen.  Some 118 Kenyan Cadets have trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst since 1960.
