Notes for First Time Applicants

All Kenyans who attain the age of 18 years are eligible to issuance of Identity Cards;

Kenyans who acquire citizenship by registration are also entitled to issuance of identity cards;

Kenyans with 1st generation Identity Cards are required to apply for 2nd generation Identity Cards;

Requirements for Applying for a National ID Card

Valid original and copy of applicant’s Kenyan passport;
2
Original and Certified copy of applicant’s Birth Certificate;
3
Certified copy of parents’ Kenya Identity Card;
4
Certified copy of parents’ birth certificate;
5
Two passport size photographs.

Copy of UK residence permit/visa
7
Fee £30.00
8
Any other relevant document/information that may be required
Notes for Dual Citizens
Declaration of Dual Citizenship is required of Kenyans who:

Acquired citizenship of another country after 27th August, 2010

Are dual citizens but were 23 years and below on 27th August, 2010

Those who have regained Kenya Citizenship
