THE KENYA HIGH COMMISSIONER TO THE UNITED KINGDOM H.E LAZARUS AMAYO VISITS LEICESTER TO CELEBRATE JAMUHURI DAY HOSTED BY KENYAN COMMUNITY LIVING IN LEICESTER HELD AT THE SHREE JALARAM COMMUNITY CENTER.

The Kenya High Commissioner to the United Kingdom H.E.Lazurus Amayo on 9th December 2017 visited Leicester to celebrate the 54th Jamhuri Day. He was accompanied by His Spouse Mrs.Nelly Amayo and other officials from the Kenya High Commission, London.

The Kenya Community in Leicester led by their Chairman Mr. Joseph Hiuhu organized the event in collaboration with the Jalaram Community assisted by Ms. Christine Murunga, Mr. John Karanja, and Ms. Jane Karuoya.

In attendance were Pramod Thakkar, Chairman of the Shree Jalaram Community, Assistant Mayor Cllr.Manjula Sood, MBE., Cllr.Mansukhlal Chohan and Cllr. Abdul Osman who are all Kenyan born civic leaders in Leicester.

The High Commissioner and his delegation received a warm reception from the Kenyan community and the civic leaders in Leicester. He praised the good relations amongst the Kenyan Diaspora and further advised them to consider investing in Kenya in view of the various investment opportunities that the country has to offer.
