The High Commissioner designate of Kenya to the United Kingdom H.E. Mr. Manoah Esipisu attended an evening reception on 27th November 2018. The reception was hosted by the Chairman of the Eastern African Association (EAA), Lord Valentine Cecil at the offices of the Stephenson Harwood in London.
The Eastern Africa Association is a UK based organization which facilitates participation in the economic development of the Eastern Africa region by its over three hundred and fifty (350) members who are mainly British companies with business interest in the region. The Association also acts as a channel of communication between its Members, Governments and other relevant agencies seeking to investment in East Africa.
The event was held in conjunction with the Initiative For Free Trade (IFA) an organisation founded and led by Mr. Daniel Hannan MEP. In his introductory remarks Mr. John Small the EAA’s Chief Executive Officer welcomed H.E. Mr. Manoah Esipisu to London and expressed the East African Association’s readiness to work with the High Commissioner in promoting Kenya as a favoured destination for investment.
Mr. Hannan while speaking at the event introduced IFA’s latest publication on the post-Brexit future for the UK-EAC trade. He underscored the importance of a continued strong bilateral economic relationship between the UK and the EAC region. In this context, Mr. Hannan emphasized the need to explore various viable options of a post Brexit scenario which would be mutually beneficial to the UK and the EAC as well as guarantee a smooth transition post Brexit.
In attendance were Heads of Mission from the East African Countries and members of the Eastern African Association among others.
