Commonwealth Scholars Welcome Reception

On November 27th, 2015, the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission UK  hosted a celebratory  to welcome all new Commonwealth Scholars, at Nottingham University.

Close to 400 scholars  including 32 from Kenya attended the event, along with Vice Chancellor of the University of Nottingham Professor Sir David Greenaway, Chair of Commonwealth Scholarship Commission Mr. Richard Middleton and Kenya High Commission Education Attacheé Mrs. Margaret Lesuuda.

Mrs. Lesuuda congratulated the Kenyan scholars and advised those  undergoing a Masters  to proceed to a PhD before going back to help alleviate the great shortage of staff in our Universities and other institutions. Those pursuing PhDs she encouraged them to get all the expertise they could in research as Africa needs top researchers to help them address various challenges facing the society.
