The annual British East African Muslim Association (BEAMA) Dinner was held on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at the Abby Manor, London where the High Commissioner H.E Lazarus Amayo was the chief guest accompanied by his wife Mrs. Nelly Amayo.
It was a well-attended event with 260 members with evening’s events that included a sit-down dinner of traditional Indian food, auction, raffle and live music from the house band .
The British East African Muslim Association has established around four years ago with the aim of promoting cohesion and integration amongst the community and afford them an opportunity to foster better relations and extend the same to the rest of society.
Although the organization caters to people with an East African background, 90% of their current membership consists of people with a Kenyan background
The High Commissioner was accompanied by First Secretary Mr. Aden Mohamed and Mrs. Anne Kamau Commercial Counsellor.
