Over sixty (60) Kenyan Companies feature in the Companies to Inspire Africa Report

The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) launched the 2019 “Companies to Inspire Africa Report” on 16th January 2019 at the LSEG Offices in London. H.E. Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, President of the Republic of Kenya and the British Prime Minister the Rt. Hon Theresa May contributed forewords for the report.

In his forwarding remarks, President Kenyatta noted that entrepreneurship is at the heart of Kenya’s vibrant economy, propelling investment, job creation and growth. He reiterated that Companies to Inspire Africa showcases Kenya’s mercantile spirit, vision and capacity to produce world-class innovation. The President added that over 60 Kenyan companies are featured in the report showcasing the reach, the ambition and prospects of Kenya (Read More).

The event which commenced with Market Opening was presided over by the Secretary of State for International Development, the Rt. Hon. Penny Mordaunt MP and attended by over 100 African entrepreneurs and business leaders. Also in attendance was H.E. Manoah Esipisu, Kenya’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

“Companies to Inspire Africa” is a pioneering report, compiled by the London Stock Exchange Group annually. This year’s edition showcased over 350 of Africa’s leading private companies, selected from 30 African countries including Kenya and featured over 20% female executives. Renewable energy and consumer services are the key themes in the report. This year’s report has a strong company representation from Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Morocco, Egypt, and Côte d’Ivoire.
